According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, over 24% of Pakistan’s population lives below the poverty line, with unemployment rates around 6.5%. In urban cities like Lahore, rapid population growth and economic disparity have worsened the situation, leaving millions struggling to secure sustainable employment. Many people, despite being capable and willing to work, are forced into begging or low paying informal jobs because of the lack of resources, education, or access to opportunities. In Lahore alone, an estimated 35% of the working age population is underemployed or unemployed and they are relying on inconsistent charity for survival. This cycle of dependency doesn’t address the root causes of poverty, it makes a crisis where immediate relief becomes a necessity but long term solutions are overlooked. By connecting people with employment opportunities and providing them with the resources to succeed, we can address this growing challenge and help people build a self sufficient and dignified future.
